Those who refuse to accept or embrace change, are comfortable in an uncomfortable situation called the COMFORT ZONE.
You begin to doubt the validity and practicality of your dreams. You begin to convince yourself that "you are becoming more practical now," and you finally begin to live a life that is compromised. When you're in your mid-thirties, you tell yourself, "I just need to be safe and stay out of trouble, that's all I need to do." You're not expecting anything wonderful to happen. But that's when things start to go wrong. You're not looking at life with enthusiasm; instead, you're looking at it as a safety net.
The more security-conscious you are, the more troubled you will be by any change in your life. Change is the very essence of physical existence. Everything in your environment is continuously changing. Change is the very essence of physical reality. Nothing stays the same.
So you're resisting life if you resist change. EVERYTHING IS CHANGE as long as you're a part of the physical process of the existence. Nothing stays the same for long. Even breathing (inhaling and exhaling) is a fast-paced process, but can you stop it? OH NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.
WHY CHANGE IS IMPORTANT
When it comes to living life, you must give it your all. Refusing to change invites unhappiness and depression, as well as unnecessarily causing suffering. As a result of your resistance to change, depression, frustration and anger are a natural part of the process.
WHY CHANGE IS IMPORTANT
Allow
me to tell you a story about an eagle - It has a life expectancy of 70 years,
so it would make a difficult decision to get there. In its 40th year, its long
and flexible talons can no longer catch prey, its long and sharp beak becomes
bent, and its feathers become old, thick, and heavy, sticking to its chest,
making it difficult to fly.
At this point, the eagle has only two options: die or undergo a painful transformation. The eagle must first fly to the mountain top and sit on its nest, after which it must knock its beak against a rock until it is plucked out, then wait for a new beak to grow back before plucking out its talons.
When
the eagle's new talons grow in, it begins plucking its old, worn feathers, a
change that is well worth the inconvenience. The eagle then makes its famous
revival flight and lives for another 30 years.
To survive and live, one must change. We, too, must begin the process of change by removing limiting beliefs, uncomfortable memories, and a fixed mindset. Only after we have been freed from the burdens of the past can we fully appreciate the present.
Allow yourself to let go of your old negative limiting beliefs in order to embark on a new journey in the future. Open up your closed mind and let yourself fly like an EAGLE once more.
WHY CHANGE IS IMPORTANT
If you don't change, nothing will. Nothing will get better until you get better. It's not a matter of chance or circumstance; we all face ups and downs, and we all face problems as a part of life; what matters is what we do with those circumstances and how we deal with them. Nothing will change around us unless and until we change. YOU are the change agent.
